Fixing Recording Latency. Latency issues for the first time). I went to mac in the last 3 months and using Presonus studio one Pro and Presonus studio Live. May 08, 2019  We have found an issue causing some plugin features to not function correctly. A major key event djay mando march 4 2017. The preset switching and external IR loading won’t work as it should. This is caused by a limitation in Studio One 'low latency monitoring' feature, confirmed by Presonus developer since version 3.5.For now STL Tonality, as various other plug-ins, cannot support. No, it’s an extension to the original audio engine but it doesn’t replace it. With Studio One 3.5 the user has control over multiple latency levels: standard-latency audio processing, independent Dropout Protection to avoid audio dropouts and low-latency monitoring for virtual instruments. What's happening my fellow Presonians, It' has been quite sometime since I've needed to ask for help in the forums but hopefully I can get an answer that will help me in the long run so that I'm able to continue making some underground tracks for up and coming.

Hi,
I was going back over latency, reading up on it, etc. tonight just to refresh my memory a bit, and got to thinking. I am on Pro Tools 8, with a Mackie Onyx 1640i right now..so as you all know..I don't have ADC.
No biggy, I just use time adjuster for everything and it works fine.
However, what about when overdubbing..do the A/D D/A conversions screw with the placement of my overdubs, even if monitor latency isn't an issue and I'm playing along perfectly to the pre recorded tracks?
For instance..let's say I've already laid down a drum track, and now I want to overdub the bass guitar on top of that. When I play back the drum track, it goes through D/A conversion so I can hear it to play along..this is going to introduce some delay..right? This means I'm now playing along to a slightly delayed drum track from it's original position on the time line in Pro Tools..right?
So now, even if I play perfectly along to the drum track, I'm already slightly behind the original drums. To further the latency, my bass guitar is going to have to go through A/D conversion to record into Pro Tools..this will introduce more latency..right?
Does this mean, that even if I'm playing along perfectly to my recorded drum track..my bass guitar is going to record slightly behind due to the latency introduced from conversions? Or does pro tools compensate for this, even without ADC? The only fix I could see for this would be to manually nudge any and all overdubs earlier to line up with the drums..this would be silly.
I've never noticed anything terrible with this, and have been using PT for years without this ever causing a problem. I am just curious to know what exactly is really going on, and how to fix it if it is a problem..If this has really been going on all this time, I'd be eager to see how much difference it makes after corrected or compensated for.
Thanks!
P.S. Please note..I monitor through the mixer, and monitor my overdubs directly from the board..so the recorded audio comes into the board from pro tools, and the tracks I'm overdubbing/playing live come into the board from the mic(s). I monitor this straight off the board..so no latency issues while tracking in case I've confused you.
